A Florida Marriage License can be obtained from any county courthouse in the state of Florida.

You can get married anywhere in Florida once the license has been obtained. Your marriage license is good for 60 days. It must be filed within 10 days after it is dated and signed by your officiant and must be returned to the county where it was issued for recording.

FLORIDA RESIDENTS must wait three days before they get married or go through counseling. The clerk will hand you the license the day you apply for it but it has an issue date and it will not be good till the effective date.

NON FLORIDA RESIDENT Out of state couples do not have a waiting period. You can get married the same day you purchase your license.

If you are a NON Florida Resident and arriving in Florida on a weekday I suggest you go to the courthouse in person to get your license. It’s a very simple process and they will hand you the license right then. You can get married that DAY.

You may also apply by mail by going to the Brevard County Clerk of Court link below. On the right side of the page click on Mail away license info. Once issued a license is only good for 60 days, so when getting it by mail you must be sure to not get it too early.

No blood test is required. Licenses are $86.00. Photo ID is required of both bride and groom. ID must be current, not expired. A state drivers license, state ID card, military ID or passport is acceptable. Both bride and groom must be present when applying for the license. Bride and groom must be 18 years of age.
